As Vice President of Marketing and Communications, Ms. Kitson is responsible for leading the planning, development and execution of Galen’s marketing and communications initiatives across its five ground campuses and online. A member of the CEO’s Cabinet, Ms. Kitson is responsible for brand development, including integrated marketing strategies and the creative development of all brand messaging.
As a leader with oversight of the brand, Ms. Kitson’s role was expanded in 2016 to include support of the development and growth of Galen’s culture, working closely with the Vice President of Human Resources and Chief Culture Officer to lead initiatives that support a quality experience for Galen’s employees and students.
In 2017, with the need for physical expansion and renovation at each campus, Ms. Kitson joined the team leading development, providing creative strategic guidance to design and environmental branding to bring the brand to life in its physical spaces.
Prior to joining Galen, Ms. Kitson worked in integrated marketing for what was then Lee Hill/Draft Worldwide and Marketing Drive Worldwide in Chicago, Connecticut and San Francisco, leading account teams for national consumer and packaged goods brands. Upon returning to Louisville in 2000, she worked for Power Creative and PriceWeber before joining Galen, bringing with her almost 20 years of experience in marketing and communications. A native of Louisville, she is a graduate of DePauw University.
