EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT & CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER

JOSEPH R. PETERS  MS

As Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer for the College, Mr. Peters is responsible for providing administrative and fiscal oversight, ensuring appropriate financial resources are available in support of Galen’s programs. He oversees and administers the budget in accordance with institutional parameters and guidelines. Mr. Peters is additionally responsible for the oversight of the Financial Aid, Accounting, Information Technology, and Facilities departments. Under his leadership, the College has expanded facilities from approx. 34,000 sq. ft. to more than 230,000 sq. ft. of learning and administrative space including modern facilities and simulation capabilities. The campuses have seen growth and development through technology and the integration of technology in teaching and learning. Mr. Peters developed the budget and forecasting models that are currently used at the College and he oversees a qualified and capable accounting and financial aid staff that has consistently received no audit adjustments.

Mr. Peters has over 25 years of experience as an executive in the financial and health care supplier industries. Prior to joining Galen in 2004, he worked with a private equity fund, two accounting firms and the third largest group purchasing organization in the nation, where he successfully led an accounting and analysis group that produced direct recoveries in excess of $1 million. Mr. Peters, a Certified Public Accountant, received both his Bachelor of Science and his Masters of Science in Accounting from the University of Kentucky, located in Lexington, Kentucky.

Mr. Peters is actively involved with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society through committee involvement, fundraising, and annual participation in Light the Night.
