As we continue to educate our students virtually, Galen College of Nursing campus buildings will remain closed except for a small number of essential services, through the fall term.

For any need that requires student or employee campus presence during the remainder of the term, strict safety precautions will be in place and communicated prior to coming to campus.

[Updated 5/20/20]

• As we plan for the future, procedures are being put in place to minimize and stagger traffic, limit touchpoints, and execute cleaning in between and after the attendance of any personnel or students.

• These procedures will include masking, temperature checks, screening, social distancing, stringent cleaning, and adherence to all federal, state and local guidelines regarding COVID-19.

• Detailed instructions for entering the building, and requirements while inside, will be communicated before anyone is required to come to campus, with the utmost regard for safety.

[Updated 5/20/20]

Our commitment has never been stronger as we adapt and innovate to continue not only in the essential role of educating nurses, but in helping our students achieve their dreams.

As we plan for the continuation of nursing education we wanted to reassure everyone that a high level of discernment and careful planning for safety is involved in this process. For any need that requires student or employee campus presence during the July term, strict safety precautions will be in place.

One of the greatest honors Galen has as a college is the pleasure to plan and preside over graduation ceremonies and to celebrate the accomplishments of our amazing graduates. And we know how important it is to share this amazing milestone with your closest family and friends!

While the decision to postpone in-person graduation ceremonies for the remainder of 2020 was difficult but necessary, Galen will continue virtual graduation events to honor the achievements of our graduates.

[Updated 3/23/20]

Galen recognizes the importance of the role that nurses play in our society.  We have carefully planned so that we can continue to educate future nurses, while maintaining necessary safety precautions.

Galen’s faculty have taken our theory and lab on-ground courses and moved them to a virtual synchronous format.  Rather than sitting in a classroom on campus, you will log into your courses at the regularly scheduled time from home, using Zoom technology. This will allow you to participate in the course just as you would on-ground.

Using a virtual format is different from an online course, because you will be interacting with your peers and faculty in real-time.  Galen will continue to offer traditional online courses as well if you are registered for those, which are described in the Student Catalog.
