How To Apply

The campus visit is the real first step. Nothing substitutes seeing firsthand all that goes into our quality nursing education, meeting some of the faculty and staff, and getting a feel if Galen is right for you. When you decide you are ready, we make it easy!

Submit an application.

Schedule and pay for the Multilevel PAX, if applicable.

The Multilevel PAX is the College’s official entrance examination. Applicants may be granted acceptance into the College based upon equivalent entrance test scores on other qualifying examinations, including the ACT, SAT, HESI A2, PAX-PN/RN, and TEAS, or evidence of a previously earned bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

Students entering the PN/VN program will take the Multilevel PAX PN, and current LPNs or ADN program students will take the PAX RN. If you’ve taken this test within the last five years, you might be exempt from testing for Galen. Ask your Galen Admission Specialist for details.

Galen provides accessibility and support to individuals with disabilities, and complies with all state and federal laws. Any applicant who wishes to request an accommodation for the Multilevel PAX may do so by contacting their campus Section 504/Title IX Coordinator.

Complete your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).

If you plan to finance your education and haven’t completed a FAFSA application, now’s the time. Financial aid is a detailed process, so no matter where you plan to go to school, the sooner you get started, the better.

Go to the FAFSA website, and enter Galen’s school code, which is 015924. Our financial aid advisors are here to help if you would like assistance.

Provide proof of education.

All Galen programs require proof of high school graduation and/or GED. You will need a copy of your diploma or GED certificate.

Submit transcripts and nursing license (if applicable):

If an applicant is currently attending or has attended a school other than Galen with a related curriculum, he or she may be able to obtain credit for those course.  A request for evaluation of prior or current courses and credits must be submitted and approved prior to signing the enrollment agreement.  A copy of the official transcript(s) of the courses to be considered for transfer must be sent to Galen directly from each school, college, or university attended.

Individuals applying for admission into Galen’s LPN/LVN to ADN Bridge program must  provide proof of current, active, unencumbered PN licensure unless you begin a LPN to ADN Bridge program within six months of completing Galen’s PN/VN Program. However, PN/VN licensure is a course registration requirement for NUR 200 LPN to RN Role Transition.  Individuals applying for admission into Galen’s Online RN to BSN program must provide proof of current active, unencumbered RN licensure to practice as a registered nurse in the United States.
