Hands-on learning, early in the program, allows Galen ADN students to prepare for a rewarding career in nursing in 24 months or less, depending on transfer credits. No prerequisites are required — general education classes are included in the nursing curriculum.
Becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse is a great way to get started in nursing. Galen offers a 12-month full-time program and a 21-month part-time program. LPNs provide patient care under the supervision of an RN or physician.
Galen offers LPN to ADN Bridge options for Licensed Practical Nurses who want to take their education and career to the next level. Flexible options are available, which may include on-ground, online, day, evening, and weekend course availability.
Galen’s online option for RNs can be completed in as few as 12 months (based on credit transfer) — or take more time if life demands. With mobile-friendly coursework and 8-week courses, this program fits the working RN’s schedule.

Many Galen students work while attending nursing school. However, if you are attending Galen on a full-time basis, it is best to work a very minimal amount of hours. Our nursing degree programs require a considerable amount of time outside the classroom for reading, studying, assignments, etc. You must be very disciplined with your time to be successful at Galen if you plan to work while attending.
In the evaluation of transfer credit, Galen utilizes TES®, the Transfer Evaluation System from CollegeSource, which is the premier interactive database of course data from institutions of higher education, to track and display previously approved courses for transfer. The equivalencies shown are for information purposes only and are subject to change due to changes in curriculum. Galen does not transfer in developmental, prelicensure, or nursing courses taken prior to achieving an RN license.
