SUPERIOR EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES

From personal and academic counseling to student resource and computer study centers, Galen is committed to providing the best resources to help our students succeed. And, as always, your Galen faculty and staff are available and willing to sit down and offer one-on-one help with coursework, clinical, and career questions

STUDENT RESOURCE CENTER

Galen facilities include not only modern classrooms and clinical learning laboratories but also a spacious student resource center; designated areas for individual testing; quiet study spaces; group study space; and lounge seating, as well as computers and equipment for copying and printing. The Student Resource Center is open to all enrolled students and graduates studying for State Board Examinations.

Content Enrichment Specialists

Each Galen campus has Content Enrichment Specialists dedicated to helping students achieve and excel in their nursing degree program. These specialists work to support students by providing enrichment and tutoring for students in designated courses.

Academic Advising

Academic Advisors support students from new student orientation to graduation by monitoring student progress and providing guidance and resource referrals to students at Galen. They work with targeted students to develop success plans to support student retention and graduation.

Personal Counseling

A career in nursing is challenging. Life is, too. Because Galen is committed to helping students progress successfully through both academic and personal challenges, a school counselor is available to provide confidential guidance for a wide variety of issues.

Academic Librarians

Academic Librarians support student research and academic needs by providing reference services and supplemental resources for students at Galen College.

Nursing is much more than a job, which is why the Galen staff strive to go above and beyond to educate students.

Galen provides accessibility and support to individuals with disabilities, and complies with all state and federal laws. Any applicant or student who wishes to request an accommodation may do so by contacting their campus Section 504/Title IX Coordinator.

CAREER SERVICES

Galen hosts a variety of employer visits for current students and graduates to advance their career in nursing. Healthcare industry representatives regularly visit our campuses for the opportunity to meet personally with our students. We also provide additional job placement assistance, such as job interview tips and help with résumé writing.

Galen graduates are well-respected in their communities. Local employers continue to provide positive feedback about our graduates throughout their nursing careers, many of whom have been hired by some of the leading employers in their communities. While placement is not guaranteed, assistance is made available to you as requested.

Nursing is more than a career; it’s a calling. We understand this, and work to fulfill our students’ needs on both levels.

Campus Engagement Specialists

Campus Engagement Specialists support campus engagement and student career development by coordinating student organizations and facilitating career fairs and other campus events.
