Several Paths Forward

It’s OK if you don’t know everything now. Nursing has many paths and varieties. You can adapt and change your route as a nurse as your answers change.

Prelicensure Programs

Start from where you are to become a nurse (LPN/LVN) in as little as a year:

  • Licensed Practical Nurse/Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN)
  • ADN for RN: Associate degree to prep for the NCLEX-RN
  • BSN: Earn your bachelor of science in nursing
  • LPN/LVN to ADN Bridge: Your path to becoming an RN

Accreditation

Accreditation means an outside agency has reviewed the education we offer and decided it meets their standards. Review all our accreditations.

Galen College of Nursing (Galen) is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate, baccalaureate, master’s, and doctorate degrees. Galen also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels. Questions about the accreditation of Galen may be directed in writing to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges at 1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, GA 30033-4097, by calling (404) 679-4500, or by using information available on SACSCOC’s website.

Galen consists of a Main Campus located in Kentucky and off-campus instructional sites in Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia. Branch campus accreditation is dependent upon the continued accreditation of the Main Campus.

The Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008 (HEOA) requires that postsecondary institutions participating in federal student aid programs make certain disclosures to enrolled and prospective students, parents, employees, and the public. Galen makes this information available to you online at Consumer Disclosures.
