Submission Guidelines

Before you submit your nomination, here are a few things we’d like you to know.

Eligibility Requirements

This award is for a staff nurse from a healthcare facility, not a nursing faculty member. The nominee must have supported the Galen student during their clinicals between April 1, 2024, and March 31, 2025.

Nominations may be submitted by a Galen student in any nursing program, and at any level.

Submission Deadline

Nominations must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on March 31, 2025.

The Clinical Nurse Excellence Award will be awarded during Nurses Week, May 2025.

Nominee Qualifications

Quality & Compassionate Care

This staff nurse demonstrates exceptional nursing knowledge and expert skills, consistently applying both with compassion and integrity. The nurse improves the quality of the care experience and outcomes for patients in any clinical setting or nursing specialty.

Professional Mentoring

This staff nurse advances the nursing practice in any clinical setting or nursing specialty. The nurse guides and supports career development for individuals or groups of nurses while advancing evidence-based nursing knowledge.
