Galen College of Nursing is excited to partner with the HCA Healthcare Journal of Medicine and HCA Healthcare Nursing Excellence (NEx) to celebrate the creativity of our community. We’re inviting all Galen faculty, staff, and students—as well as all HCA Healthcare nurses—to participate in this year’s Art Contest, a showcase designed to highlight the many ways our colleagues express themselves through visual art.

This annual contest isn’t just about talent—it’s about expression, storytelling, and the wellness that creativity brings to our lives. Whether you’re a painter, photographer, sculptor, or creator of other static visual media, we encourage you to share your work.

Not only will your work be reviewed by a panel of your peers, but selected pieces could be eligible to be on the cover of a special issue of the HCA Healthcare Journal of Medicine entitled ‘Safer Together: Transforming Healthcare Safety Strategies for Patients, Healthcare Professionals, and Academic Partners.’

Along with your artwork, please include a brief artist statement (250 words or fewer).

Step 1: When you get to the ‘Division’ drop down menu select ‘Not Applicable’.

Step 2: For the ‘Hospital’ drop down menu select ‘Not Applicable’.

Step 3: For the ‘Position Title or Role’ drop down menu select ‘Other’.

Step 4: In the ‘Other’ text box include your campus and position or role (i.e. student, faculty, staff).
