Galen Alum Steps into Surgical Services Leadership

At Galen College of Nursing, success is defined by graduates who lead with skill, compassion, and purpose in the communities they serve. For alum Renee Filiatreau, RN, BSN, that commitment is evident in her latest career milestone.

Renee, a graduate of Galen’s online Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program, has stepped into the role of Director of Surgical Services at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon, KY — a place she has proudly called home since 2017. Over the years, she has served as a Preoperative Nurse in the hospital’s Surgery Department, building a reputation for clinical excellence, teamwork, and dedication to patient care.

With more than a decade of nursing experience, Renee brings both expertise and heart to her new leadership role. Her journey reflects a deep commitment to growth — not only in her own career, but in the care delivered to every patient who walks through the doors of Spring View.

Reflecting on her preparation for leadership, Renee credits her education at Galen:

“Galen College of Nursing prepared me for my role as Director of Surgery by building the clinical judgment, leadership discipline, and critical decision-making skills needed to lead safely and effectively in a high-acuity surgical environment.”
