Happy Nurses’ Week from Galen College of Nursing

Each May, National Nurses Week (May 6–12, 2026) celebrates the dedication, compassion, and impact that nurses bring to healthcare every day.

”Nursing requires skill, confidence, resilience, innovation, and professionalism. Equally important, it will require compassion. The kind that sees patients not just for their conditions, but for their stories, their fears, and their hope. That is the kind of care that changes lives,” said Dr. Tracy Ortelli, PhD, RN, CNE, ANEF, FAAN, Galen’s President and Chief Academic Officer.

At Galen College of Nursing we are dedicated to helping people achieve their dreams and become part of the nursing community. Whether a student, parent of a student, or part of our faculty and staff, everyone who has a hand in the success of a nurse makes a difference.

“Because of your commitment, students gain the knowledge, skills, professionalism, confidence, and compassion they will carry into practice. Whether you teach, lead, or support operations, you are contributing to something larger than any one role or department,” said Dr. Ortelli.

Nurses’ Week Fun

At Galen, we are celebrating nurses both past, present and future, with a week filled with fun events for our students and colleagues. We will be offering raffles and giveaways to faculty, staff, and students, as well as holding campus activities all week.
