    A Galen graduate is honored with a Daisy Award for her compassionate care as an ICU nurse, showcasing how her education shaped her career.

  • In an effort to provide comfort and support to students, Senior Facilities Manager Jim Hack has been bringing his two golden retrievers, Henry and Maisy, to the Galen College of Nursing campus in Louisville. What started as a way to introduce his new puppy to co-workers quickly evolved into a popular therapy dog program. Hack, whose daughter had a long battle with cancer, says the dogs are his way of giving back to the nurses who supported his family so long ago.

  • The idea of returning to school while working full-time is daunting, and for Laura Lee, it wasn’t a choice she initially wanted to make. “Honestly, going back to school wasn’t something I wanted to do. That’s the honest truth,” she admitted. But after a year of working as a nurse at Memorial Health Meadows Hospital, a facility owned by HCA Healthcare, the encouragement of a friend and a colleague changed her mind. She weighed the pros and cons and decided to invest in her future, enrolling in Galen College of Nursing’s online RN to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program.
