Pregnant & Parenting Students

Galen College of Nursing is committed to creating a welcoming, accessible, and inclusive environment for pregnant and parenting students.

Request an Accommodation

In compliance with Title IX, any student or applicant who would like to request reasonable accommodations as a result of pregnancy, childbirth, or related conditions should contact any of the Section 504/Title IX Coordinators. Our team supports all campuses and programs.

 

For Pregnant Students

As applicable, during your meeting with the Section 504/Title IX Coordinator, you will work together to: 

  1. Develop a plan for your return to school following birth.
  2. Notify your course faculty to inform them of your pregnancy and plans.
  3. Discuss what to do if your plans change.

After you deliver and when ready to return, contact your Section 504/Title IX Coordinator to discuss your plans.

You will also have an opportunity to discuss other types of reasonable accommodations during your pregnancy, such as:

  • Accessible seating
  • Appropriate restroom and water breaks
  • Excused absences due to pregnancy or related conditions
