Technology is essential for success in today’s academic world. Please be mindful that technology transitions and moves at a very rapid pace and systems today could be obsolete by the time graduation comes around. Here are some guidelines to help you get from day one to graduation.

Operating System & Hardware

Recommendations for Buying Your Own Laptop, Computer or Mobile Device:

Operating System (Laptop or Computer)

Windows 11
- (Note: Windows 10 will no longer be supported after October 2025)
macOS Sequoia (macOS 15) or later

Note: Chromebooks are not recommended. While they are affordable, Chromebooks have limitations that may prevent you from installing necessary software or fully participating in all course activities.

Mobile Device

Android – Android OS 14 (or newer)
Apple – iOS (iOS 17 or newer)

Hardware

Processor (CPU)
- Intel i5 or higher
- AMD Ryzen 3 or higher

Memory (RAM)

Minimum: 16 GB
- This is important if you’re multitasking or using multiple apps at once
Recommended: 32 GB
- For better performance and future-proofing

Storage (Hard Drive)

Minimum: 256 GB

Webcam

Most laptops already include a built-in webcam. If not, an external USB webcam is also fine

Audio

Built-in device speakers & microphone
Headphones/Earbuds with microphone capabilities

Security

Smart devices will be needed for security authentication using the Microsoft Authenticator Application
