Helpful Resources for an On-Campus Admissions Appointment

Our campus is located on the corner on Dr Martin L King Blvd and 11th Ave N. We are located in the HCA Building. When you enter the main lobby, someone at the front desk will greet you, sign you in, and take you up to the fourth floor — which is where our Galen team will greet you!

The parking garage connected to the building is reserved for employees and students. Please use parking lot A, located across 12th Avenue, behind the parking garage. Press the call button at the gate, and it will contact the security desk. At that point, you can let them know you are here to visit Galen.map of parking lot

Once in the lobby, please walk into the Galen Bookstore and tell the front desk you are here for an Admissions Appointment.

Preparing For Your Virtual Admissions Appointment

The biggest challenge students face is finding the link for the appointment in their email. The email with the link comes from inquiries@galencollege.edu and is called “Admissions Appointment Reminder”. If you don’t receive an email, please check your spam and junk folders just in case the email was flagged. Gmail is notorious for this.

You can connect to Zoom Presentation via cell phone or laptop. Be sure to connect to stable Wi-Fi and find a quiet place. We encourage you to have your camera on during the presentation. We’d like to meet and see you! We discourage driving during the presentation and encourage you to be ready to engage with your Galen Enrollment Counselor. We recommend that you join the presentation 5 minutes early.

Please be aware this appointment is likely to be a group meeting, not a one-on-one. However, we do our best to keep the group small to allow plenty of time for introductions and questions. To respect the group, please log on in a location that will not cause distractions.

Joining the Zoom call is easy If you do not have the Zoom app, here is how you can join from your internet browser:

  1. Open the email with the meeting link
  2. Click the link to join
  3. Click “join from your browser” at the bottom of the screen
  4. If prompted, sign in to your Zoom account
  5. If you don’t have a Zoom account, create a new account
  6. Enter your name and the meeting password if it was not included in the join link
  7. Click Join

You can also join a Zoom meeting by:

  • Downloading the app from your smartphone or tablet’s app store
  • Dialing in on your phone using the teleconferencing number provided in the invite

Please be aware that once you join the meeting, you will be placed in a virtual “waiting room.” Please don’t leave! You are in the right place. You will be admitted into the meeting when the Galen host starts the meeting.

Before joining a Zoom meeting, we recommend testing your microphone and camera settings. Here’s how:

  1. Log in to Zoom
  2. Click your profile picture in the top-right corner
  3. Click Settings
  4. Click the Audio tab
  5. Click Test Speaker to play a test tone
