Across the country, HCA Healthcare colleagues recently demonstrated their unwavering support for the next generation of nursing professionals through the ‘Future of Caring Drive.’ As a proud member of the HCA Healthcare family—the nation’s largest employer of nurses—Galen College of Nursing provides students with a unique HCA Healthcare advantage. This relationship ensures we are constantly working together to provide future nurses with the essential tools and resources to support their success.

During the 2025 holiday season, professional nurses and other HCA Healthcare colleagues were invited to donate personal care and household items to benefit Galen students in their local communities. The response was nothing short of inspiring. Medical professionals at HCA Healthcare facilities nationwide stepped up, donating boxes upon boxes of essential items to help ease the burdens our students may face outside the classroom.

This initiative aligned perfectly with Galen College of Nursing’s ‘student first’ dedication and the HCA Healthcare advantage. By providing these resources, we allow our students to focus more fully on their education and their ultimate calling: nursing.

Dugger says the drive was also a meaningful way to honor the legacy of former HCA Healthcare Chief Nursing Executive Dr. Sammie Mosier. Her lifelong commitment to caring for people first remains a guiding light for both Galen College of Nursing and HCA Healthcare.
