    Across hospitals and clinical settings this spring, Galen College of Nursing students and alumni are being recognized for embodying Galen’s iCARE Compassionately values: Inclusivity, character, accountability, respect, excellence, and compassion.

    While many high school students spent their day in the classroom, students at Socastee High School, in Myrtle Beach, spent the day experiencing what life could be like as a nurse.

    Theresa Campbell, MSN, RN, CCRN, NPD-BC, didn’t begin her nursing career straight out of high school, which is why her journey resonates with so many Galen College of Nursing students today. After entering the profession later in life, Campbell built an impactful career in pediatric critical care and nurse education at HCA Healthcare.

    The opening of a new campus always signals the start of an exciting journey — but in Savannah, Georgia, it’s especially meaningful as a mother and son take on nursing school side by side.

    Tabatha Millard and her son, Seth Millard, are both enrolled in Galen’s Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program. At the same time, both are also working part time as Patient Care Technicians at Memorial Health University Medical Center, an HCA Healthcare facility in Savannah.
