Ordering Transcripts

What to Know About Getting a Transcript

A transcript is an official record (proof) of your academic work. You may need one in three common situations:

  • Applying to Galen: You send transcripts to Galen.
  • Applying to another college or university after Galen: You will need transcripts from Galen.
  • Applying for a new job or promotion: You may need transcripts from Galen.

Many institutions send transcripts directly to Galen electronically, making the process quicker. To send a paper transcript, use the mailing address for the campus you plan to attend.

Review our instructions for requesting transcripts from Galen and other institutions. Reach out to the Registrar office with any questions.

Requesting Transcripts from Galen College of Nursing

If you need to order an official Galen College of Nursing transcript to send to an employer or another institution, complete an online order form through our transcript provider, the National Student Clearinghouse.

Get a payment method ready to complete your order. There is a fee of up to $7 per transcript, plus additional fees depending on the delivery method.

Note: If you previously attended Galen and are applying to a new program or reapplying, you do not need to order an official Galen transcript.

How to Request…

Any student who does not already have an associate, bachelor’s, or higher degree must provide proof of high school completion. Many high school transcripts can be ordered electronically through Parchment.

If your school does not participate in an electronic transcript service, contact your high school office directly to obtain an official transcript. Paper transcripts should be mailed to the campus you are applying to.

If you earned a GED®, you could request that your GED® transcript be sent to the college using the online ordering system.

Each institution has its own transcript ordering system, with most published on their college website. If you are unable to find transcript ordering instructions on your previous college’s website, contact the Registrar or Records Office at your prior college.

If you attended an institution that is no longer open, contact the state department of education where the school operated to obtain a copy of your transcript.

Veteran students are required by the Department of Defense to submit all previous college transcripts, regardless of the credit earned at the institution.

The Joint Services Transcripts (JST) is a consolidated transcript of all military training and experience for service members of all branches, except the Air Forces. Your JST can be ordered online and sent electronically to the College.

Air Force transcripts can be ordered online and are mailed to the College within 1-2 weeks.

The Multilevel PAX is a standardized entrance examination for potential nursing students who seek admittance into nursing schools nationwide.

Applicants may be granted acceptance into the College based upon equivalent entrance test scores on other qualifying examinations, including the ACT, SAT, HESI A2, PAX-PN/RN, and TEAS Exam. Admission test scores must have been earned within the last five years.

Students may be eligible to earn credit for select general education courses based on scores earned on nationally standardized proficiency examinations. Please see the Student Catalog for more information on required scores. Find more information at:

If you attended high school or college outside the United States, your official transcripts must be evaluated by an approved National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) agency prior to submitting to the college for review.

If you attended a high school or college in the U.S. Territories, your official transcript must be in English prior to submitting to the college for review. If your transcript is in another language, you must have a NACES member agency translate your official transcript.

Here’s the process on how to submit your international transcript through NACES:

  • Navigate to the NACES website to find approved evaluation agencies that can review your transcript.
  • Do your research to find an evaluation agency that best meets your needs.
  • Explore the listed evaluation agency websites or call their representatives to learn more about:
    • The processing time to complete an official evaluation (not just a preliminary evaluation).
    • The costs associated with their transcript evaluation services. Keep in mind  that some evaluation agencies with lesser costs may take longer to evaluate your transcript.
  • Once you select an evaluation agency and apply online, the evaluation agency will validate the equivalency and legitimacy of your education and will share the results with Galen’s enrollment team.
  • Galen will review the transcript evaluation and will be in touch with approval or information on the next steps.

Please note that the process to evaluate your transcript through NACES may take up to 4-6 weeks. The NACES evaluation agency you select may offer a rush order for an additional cost. If you’re interested in expediting your evaluation, ask a NACES representative for more information.

If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to your Enrollment Counselor for further assistance.
