In 2023, Galen College of Nursing was awarded a Center of Excellence in Nursing Education™ designation by the National League for Nursing.

Today, fewer than 10% of nursing institutions hold this designation, which is designed for nursing schools or healthcare organizations that have achieved a level of excellence in a specific area. Through public recognition and distinction, the program acknowledges the outstanding innovations, commitment, and sustainability of excellence these organizations convey.

Galen College of Nursing (Galen) is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate, baccalaureate, master’s, and doctorate degrees. Galen also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels. Questions about the accreditation of Galen may be directed in writing to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges at 1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, GA 30033-4097, by calling 404-679-4500, or by using information available on SACSCOC’s website.

Galen consists of a Main Campus located in Kentucky and off-campus instructional sites in Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia. Branch campus accreditation is dependent upon the continued accreditation of the Main Campus.

Effective July 23, 2024, the associate nursing program at Galen College of Nursing at the Aurora Campus located in Aurora, Colorado, is a candidate for initial accreditation by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing. This candidacy status expires on July 23, 2026.
