Academic Advising

Support Through Your Academic Journey

From enrollment to graduation, academic advisors support your educational journey.

A Galen instructor meets with a female student and points to a page in a textbookYou’re assigned an advisor from the moment you enroll at Galen. You know their name, and just as importantly, they know yours. They help you plan your path, stay on track with your goals, and assist you when you need help.

Whether it’s an in-person appointment, Zoom meeting, or live chat session—you receive the guidance you need in your coursework and make progress in your program.

Stay Centered

Meet with your assigned academic advisor regularly. Your advisor supports your progress from enrollment to graduation. They guide and coach you through your program, answering questions, helping you with your schedule, and finding you resources when you need it. Academic Advisors can also help you strengthen your study skills, time management, and test taking. You work with them to prepare for what your next quarter will bring. Return to your advisor regularly to stay centered on your goals.

Immediate Support

Have a question or need immediate support? A team of On-Demand Academic Advisors are available through a chat Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. EST. Should your questions demand more than just a text-based chat, our advisors are equipped to seamlessly transition into a video session, complete with screen-sharing and whiteboarding capabilities.

Live, in-depth sessions led by professional educators: Every week, choose from a calendar of workshops aligned to your course content.

You can also schedule an appointment to work one-on-one with trained nursing school tutors, called Content Enrichment Specialists.

Jumpstart meetings are an opportunity to meet your Academic Advisor and other students who are also just starting their studies. The sessions focus on building relationships, reviewing resources, and preparing you for your new academic journey.
