Finishing nursing school is a marathon, and no one knows that better than Ulanda Campbell, an ADN student at Galen College of Nursing’s Miami campus. For years, she juggled family life with her dream of becoming a nurse. Now, thanks to the Next Generation Healers Scholarship, her journey is on the fast track.

This year marks 35 years since the landmark Americans with Disabilities Act was signed into law, enshrining protections from discrimination to millions of people in the USA, while also creating more accommodations and educational opportunities than had been previously available.

Earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) requires immense dedication, but for Eileen Burger, a recent graduate of Galen College of Nursing Gainesville, it demanded extraordinary resilience. Her story is a testament to perseverance, highlighting the crucial support for nursing students provided by Galen’s faculty and staff.
