Lynda Benton

Lynda Benton is a healthcare executive with robust leadership experience in sales, marketing, global sponsorships and corporate campaigns. Most recently, she was Senior Director, Global Community Impact, with Johnson & Johnson Global Corporate Affairs. In this role, she led strategy and execution for Johnson & Johnson Nursing, representing the company’s 125+-year commitment to championing and supporting the nursing profession. Lynda retired from Johnson & Johnson in December 2023, concluding a purposeful and fulfilling 33-year career with the company.

Lynda is a passionate nurse advocate who believes that nurses should be championed and supported for their impact, empowered to raise their voices and implement their ideas, and highly valued as innovative leaders vital to transforming the future of healthcare.

Prior to leading J&J Nursing for seven years, Lynda led the global execution of J&J’s 2014 FIFA WORLD CUP Brazil sponsorship (2011-2014), working with colleagues and agency partners around the world. Lynda then led the J&J Major League Soccer and U.S. Soccer sponsorships before transitioning to lead J&J’s Global Citizen sponsorship – working closely with the Global Public Health team on activation plans over several years. Prior to these roles, Lynda spent over 20 years in the pharmaceutical sector of Johnson & Johnson, garnering deep experience in sales, sales leadership, and senior-level marketing positions for large pharmaceutical brands.

Lynda is a four-time recipient of the Johnson & Johnson James E. Burke Award for marketing excellence. In 2023, she received the Honorary Member award from AONL (American Association for Nursing Leadership) for exemplary leadership in Nursing Practices, and the Global Nurse Ally Award from SONSIEL (Society of Nurse Scientists, Innovators, Entrepreneurs and Leaders) for advocating for nurses on a global scale.

Lynda graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. She has been married to her husband, Rob, for 29 years, and they have been blessed with two amazing children. In her spare time, she enjoys playing pickleball, walking the dogs, reading, baking, and spending time with friends and family. Lynda remains very connected to the nursing profession as a passionate advocate and ally.
