Brian Hicks

Chief Operating Officer

Brian Hicks serves as the Chief Operating Officer at Galen College of Nursing, bringing over 30 years of experience in operations and management. With a background in Fortune 500 companies like PepsiCo, Aramark, and Keurig Dr Pepper, he is recognized for his exceptional ability to lead high-performing teams.

Before joining Galen, Brian managed a division at Advance Auto Parts, supervising more than 7,000 employees across 900 stores. His leadership is characterized by a dedication to fostering a positive organizational culture and enhancing customer service. Brian’s expertise in developing new business strategies and managing growth supports Galen’s mission to expand access to nursing education nationwide.

In his role at Galen, Brian oversees key administrative services, including Enrollment Management, Marketing and Communications, Campus Operations, and Compliance. He plays a key role in the strategic evolution of the college by enhancing Galen’s commitment to student success and operational excellence.

Brian holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance and Business Law with a minor in Economics from Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. His professional affiliations and recognitions include participation in the McKinsey Academy Black Executive Leaders Program (BELP) in 2022 and serving as a board member of the Marshall University Alumni Association since 2020. He is also certified in GAP Partnership Negotiation and Guttman Executive Leadership.
