Joni Penland is the Senior Director of Financial Aid. Ms. Penland has been with the College for over 30 years and served in a variety of capacities during this time. Since 2004, she has been responsible for providing leadership to financial aid staff at both the main and branch campuses. Ms. Penland provides oversight in the administration of Title IV student financial assistance programs regulated by the United States Department of Education and ensures compliance with both state and federal regulations. As one of the founding staff members of the College, Ms. Penland has been a key part of Galen’s growth and expansion as well as served as an advisor and mentor in the professional development of many of the institution’s leaders and staff. Ms. Penland currently serves on the Chief Executive Officer’s Cabinet, Academic Affairs Council, Leadership Advisory Council and as a key advisor on various other operational implementation committees. Professional memberships include the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators and the Kentucky Association of Financial Aid Administrators where she currently serves on the Board of Directors as the Proprietary sector representative.
